Boastful, opinionated, or both?

It struck me the other day how many people we meet in life who are either boastful, opinionated, or both. These are both basic human failings of course, but it can make a fairly adverse impression when you meet someone who has both these qualities at the same time. Being humble has never really seemed to cut it in the professional world, or for that matter, anywhere else, maybe since around the time of Jesus ...... or even then! - because after all, look what happened to Jesus. The lesson may be this: if you're a naturally humble, or at least non-boastful person who isn't arrogant enough to have an opinion about everything, in the real world you'd best pretend not to be, because it can only work against you.
